Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC)
What is FMC?
Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) is a way to connect fixed-line and mobile networks so that they work together. It allows calls made from mobile phones to go through Voxbi, just like calls from a desk phone. This gives employees the freedom to work from anywhere without losing access to business phone features.
With FMC, your mobile phone becomes part of your company’s phone setup. Whether you're in the office, on the move, or working from home, your calls are handled the same way, reliably and professionally.
How FMC works at Mixvoip
At Mixvoip, FMC allows you to extend your business telephony to mobile devices using our Voxbi mobile app. Here’s how it works:
- You can make calls using either VoIP (over the internet) or your mobile network, depending on what’s available.
- When you make a call through the Voxbi app, it is routed through a Mixvoip dial-in number—for example, +49 651 93749995 or +352 2632 22 50.
- On iOS, you may see a prompt asking if you want to call this number. This is expected and does not affect the actual destination of the call.
- If the person you're calling is also a Voxbi user, they will see your business number. If not, they will see your mobile number.
This setup makes your mobile phone an extension of your professional communication system.
Why we use FMC
FMC helps businesses unify their communication tools and improve flexibility. With this setup, your team can:
- Use one number for both mobile and office calls
- Appear professional when calling from a mobile device
- Stay reachable on their business line from anywhere
FMC is part of Mixvoip’s approach to flexible, reliable business communication. It gives your mobile devices the same power and control as your office phones.
